What’s a Blog Anyway?

Blog – isn’t that a funny name? It is short for “Web log.” Definition: A blog (an abridgment of the term web log) is a website, usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.

What it’s purpose? It’s a specialized site that allows an individual or group of individuals to share a running log of events and personal insights with online audiences. Also, a frequent, chronological publication of personal thoughts and web links.
